Our Hamm's Beer-loving friends in The Chugs are back with another six-pack! Everything Is Trying To Kill Us finds these functioning alcoholics cranking out six new songs that try to walk in a straight line between high-energy punk rock and surf influences, landing somewhere in FIDLAR/PUP territory.
As if that wasn't enough, the EP comes wrapped in a conspiracy theory involving UFOs, Prohibition, secret biotech companies, mysterious government agencies, and the Hamm's Man somehow being responsible for all of it. There's even a 16-page case file over at beerfiles.org (Case Number 42069) if you feel like diving down the rabbit hole.
"Tased And Unfased" is an absolute blast, driven by frantic spoken-word delivery, while "Everyone You Were With Is Gone" finds The Chugs completely unraveling before pulling themselves back together just in time for the closing track, "Final Boss (Regular Boss)". It's ridiculous, catchy, and exactly the kind of beer-soaked mayhem (or mayHamm’s) you'd expect from these guys.
