Chart-topping (in Finland) punk trio The Chugs have unleashed a new three-song EP, Here Lie The Chugs. Steeped in Halloween spirit, it features tracks like ‘My Friend’s Cousin’s Roommate’s Funeral,’ a chaos-soaked tale of crashing a service and outshining the eulogy, and ‘Drunk in a Graveyard,’ a love letter to getting loaded between the headstones with a stash of Hamm’s Beer. Closing track ‘Why Can’t I Bring This Into Denny’s’ steps outside the spooky theme to pose one of life’s more pressing questions.
Across all three songs, The Chugs fire on all cylinders, delivering some of their heaviest and most unhinged material yet. It may be brief, but it’s another solid reminder of The Chugs’- and, by proxy, Hamm’s Beer’s- growing reign.
