Influential post-hardcore pioneers Texas Is The Reason have announced Do You Know Who You Are?: TX30 Special Edition, the second of three archival releases commemorating the 30th anniversary of both the band and its landmark debut album. The release arrives August 21, 2026 via Revelation Records.
Originally released in 1996, Do You Know Who You Are? remains one of the most influential albums of the post-hardcore era. Produced by JAWBOX's J. Robbins and mastered by Vlado Meller, the album helped define a generation of emotionally resonant punk and alternative music while continuing to inspire new listeners nearly three decades later.
For the TX30 Special Edition, the original recordings have been recut using current direct-to-metal mastering, delivering a powerful new presentation of the album while preserving the spirit and energy of the original release.
The anniversary package is housed in a gatefold jacket and includes color vinyl, a TX30-exclusive obi strip, and an 8-page booklet featuring expanded artwork, never-before-seen photographs, rare flyers, and additional archival material that helps tell the story of the band and the album's enduring legacy.
The release is part of a larger three-record anniversary campaign designed to document the complete story of Texas Is The Reason. The specially curated series traces the band's evolution through three distinct periods: their earliest recordings, their celebrated debut album, and the final songs written following Do You Know Who You Are?—material originally intended to form the foundation of a second album before the band's breakup in 1997.
Each release in the series features expanded artwork, gatefold packaging, exclusive obi strips, and booklets containing previously unpublished photographs, flyers, and other artifacts from the band's archives. The three LPs have been intentionally designed to work together as a cohesive collection, with the obi strips creating a unified visual presentation across all three releases.
Since its original release, Do You Know Who You Are? has earned recognition as a defining document of 1990s underground music, while artists including Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, and Fall Out Boy have publicly acknowledged Texas Is The Reason's lasting influence on their own work.
Though the band's original run was brief, the legacy of Do You Know Who You Are? has only grown with time, cementing its place as one of the most important and enduring albums in the history of post-hardcore.
