Coming off the heels of their 2024 EP I, Hauntu are back with their full-length debut, The Unknown Reigns. The album drops November 14 via Sell The Heart Records (pre-order) and Engineer Records (pre-order), delivering ten tracks that are as furious as they are beautiful. Today, we are happy to premiere the band's latest single, 'The Arrival'.
Frontwoman Rebecca describes the band’s latest single as a reflection of her fascination with extraterrestrials:
“I’ve always had a fascination with extraterrestrials and truly believe that yes, the truth is out there. ‘The Arrival’ is about that — looking to the sky for answers and fantasizing or hoping that these celestial beings will come to earth to save us... or maybe even destroy us before we destroy ourselves.”
From the relentless, down-stroked guitars of 'Crooked Teeth' to the thunderous apocalypse march of 'All’s Well (in Hell)', The Unknown Reigns explores life in an uber-capitalist, peri-fascist America, confronting humanity’s darkness with both catharsis and defiance. The record’s sound is unapologetically bold: a little goth, a little ’90s, with hints of metal and a whole lot of punk-as-fuck ethos. Fans of Mannequin Pussy, Hot Snakes, Wet Leg, Fugazi, Siouxsie, and The Wipers will feel right at home.
The truth is out there. And so is Hauntu.
