Madison, WI power trio Whippets – Bobby Hussy on guitar and vocals, Tyler Spatz on bass, and Hart Alan Miller on drums -have unveiled their new single, “Dream of One.” Teetering between post-punk, grunge, shoegaze, and garage rock, the band has built a reputation for nuanced recordings and intense, chaotic live shows, which landed them a coveted opening slot for Jack White during his secret 2024 Madison performance.
“Dream of One” is taken off the band’s sophomore album, No Skulls, out now on Hussy’s own label, No Coast. Delivering ten new anthems of dark, sharp-tongued post-punk “grungegaze,” the record follows their 2022 debut 7″ on Goodbye Boozy and their 2024 self-titled LP. The band features a lineup of seasoned scene veterans, with members having previously played in acts like The Hussy, Digital Leather, Tenement, MDC, and Wristwatch. Whippets will support the new release with a 23-date European tour in early 2027.
