Today Ride is unveiling the gorgeous, wistful video for their single "Catch You Dreaming." The song is taken from their Tomorrow's Shore EP, available today on 12" vinyl, digital download and streaming services via Wichita Recordings.
"Catch You Dreaming" Director Niall Trask says: "For me the song evoked feelings of human memory, time and travel. So it seemed natural to capture it visually with collage. We incorporated the wave element so familiar in Ride's art direction, their foundations in Banbury, the energy of a live show, all bound together with a performance scenario."
Speaking of the track, Ride's Andy Bell says, "'Catch You Dreaming' is written from the perspective of being one of the last two people alive, watching as the Universe is ending. The protagonist looks back over the time when humanity existed, realising that we as humans brought about our own inevitable demise. Then the couple look back over their own lives of shared memories and as they are sharing this moment, everything vaporises. It's a love song about fate, nostalgia, and having no regrets."
"Catch You Dreaming" was originally written during the Weather Diaries sessions in fall of 2016, and sees the continuation of their working relationship with Moulder and Alkan, the same combination who helped shape their richly layered and multi-faceted comeback album.
