Maine pop-punks Borderlines have dropped a video for their new single ‘FREESELFSERVICE’. Well, new-ish. Written over a decade ago, the track only saw the inside of a studio during the Repair Kit EP sessions in 2024, and it’s finally getting its moment this Friday.
“‘FREESELFSERVICE’ is an echo from a time before time was measured in years,” guitarist/vocalist Matt Anderson said. “It’s a meditation on inheritance—not of wealth, but of all the tools, gestures, and silent teachings passed from father to son.”
“With an adolescence that was shaken, not stirred, the social tools he taught me are still rock-solid," Anderson adds. "Some others have gathered dust, but they’re still there when I need them.”
The band shot the video in Matt’s barn this July, with Kory Boutin from Hell Beach on camera and editing duties. Speaking of Hell Beach, they’re hitting the road with Borderlines for a New England weekend run later this month:
- 8/21 – Portland, ME @ Geno's Rock Club w/ Greasy Grass & Freak Phone
- 8/22 – Malden, MA @ Faces Brewing Co. w/ Royal Dog & MK Naomi
- 8/23 – Burlington, VT @ Odd Fellows w/ Old North End & Emo Girls Kissing
Borderlines dropped Repair Kit in February, following up 2023’s LP Keep Pretending.
