St. Louis indie rock band Hot Joy returns quickly on the heels of their debut 2024 EP, Small Favor, with two new songs recorded with Melina Duterte of Jay Som. Quality Control b/w Leaning is out in July on Tiny Engines. "Quality Control" is the first single and is out now. The song is a noticeable evolution for the band. Call it classic indie rock with a modern flair, equal parts sweetness and attitude. Lyrically, the song is about navigating and overcoming social anxiety, about learning to sit with that discomfort and slowly embracing one's true self.
