“The Loud Wars” is the third album for St. Louis’ So Many Dynamos. They actually had already shelved it for about a year when Vagrant decided to pick it up. It would’ve been a shame if this one never came out because with “The Loud Wars” these guys prove to be more than a mere Dismemberment Plan clone.

You’ve got your spazzed out riffs, busy drum fills, plenty of moog action and of course, Aaron Stovall’s deadpan delivery to satisfy every math rock junkie out there. But they also inject their songs with plenty of hooks that are pretty damn memorable. All this is brought together nicely with Death Cab’s Chris Walla fiddling behind the knobs and it makes “The Loud Wars” an album that is irresistibly charming.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
