As soon as opening “Sing This” kicks off, it becomes clear that compared to last year’s “Vultures” the UK duo known as God Damn went with a more streamlined sound for their sophomore release. No worries though. They still treat you to plenty of loudly buzzing riffs and frantically pounding drums, but proceed by coupling them to big poppy hooks. Check “Again Again” and “Failure” for more of this goodness.

They then get all Soungarden-y on “I’ll Bury You”, dish out riffs that wouldn’t look out of place on a Queens of the Stone Age album on several other songs and go completely mental on “It Bites” and “Violence”, both of which thrash around like a kid throwing a tantrum.

It’s not that God Damn have toned things down on “Everything Ever”, they just got a little more sophisticated this time around.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
