Freezing Cold has released their electrifying, anthemic new single “Eclipse” featuring wailing guitar from Marissa Paternoster of Screaming Females. Following lead single “Backlight,” this is the latest track off their sophomore album Treasure Pool due out August 1 via Don Giovanni Records. “Eclipse” hits like an immediate indie rock classic with powerful clashing guitar, dueling vocal harmonies, stomping percussion and a catchy melodic refrain.
Commenting on the story behind the song, vocalist/guitarist Jeff Cunningham shares, “The woods can feel like a little bubble where time stops behaving the way it’s supposed to and that inspired the setting of "Eclipse," which is actually the first song we wrote for Treasure Pool. No matter how much I’ve thought I was on a path or knew what I was doing, there have been plenty of times that felt like aimless wandering, moving forward just hoping an epiphany might eventually show up. We’ve all spent time fixated on forks in the road from our pasts while feeling like we’re in limbo in the present; there’s a quiet pull between feeling lost and still somehow heading somewhere, even if the path is not clear in either direction. The song also has the special benefit of the guitar wizardry of Marissa Paternoster (co-engineer, guitar), who Angie has collaborated with many, many times over the years.”
