Hailing from the Philadelphia/New Jersey area, Goalkeeper is a new-ish band that just dropped its new EP. ‘Bad Times Don’t Last’ comes with five songs worth of solid pop-punk with an early 00’s throwback vibe. Hell, they even included the obligatory acoustic song around the halfway mark which is the only one on here that didn’t do it for me.

Tracks like ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Chances’ though, made me think of Blink 182. Like a lot. Which is a good thing because I haven’t listened to the Mark, Tom & Travis show for so long that it’s actually kinda refreshing to hear that sound again. And then there’s closing track ‘Nothing At Alll,’ which has that nice bouncy New Found Glory thing going.

Yes, the songs on ‘Bad Times Don’t Last’ are a throwback. But a very nicely executed one.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
