Football, etc. are back with their second album, “Audible”. Living up to their band name, this Texas trio has named every single song on it after an American football term. Nice touch? I like to think so.

Influenced by the likes of Sunny Day Real Estate, Rainer Maria and other emo outfits, the guitars on here twinkle and shine, the drums propel the song forward and Lindsay Minton has a good voice and manages to sound both longing, hurt and powerful at once. Okay, at times she comes a little too close to over the top drama than is strictly necessary but when the rest of your album is as good as this, that’s something we will gladly forgive her for. They say that everything is bigger in Texas and while that is a shame for people’s asses, it’s a good thing for Football etc whose bigger appeal will likely land them a spot at the forefront of the emo horde.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
