Album Reviews

With Pyramid Scheme Of Grief, The Carolyn have written an album for those of us who have gotten their heart broken. Unless your ex is called Carolyn. In which case this Atlanta-based band is probably the last band you want to be listening to.
Pyramid Scheme Of Grief is The Carolyn’s third album and comes with 11 new melodic punk rock anthems packed with the antidote to broken hearts and lost hopes. Well, that and the kind of melodies and choruses that are stuck in your brain after just one listen. Think The Menzingers, The Lawrence Arms with hints of Spanish Love Songs and even some slight Dinosaur Jr vibes on ‘Routines’.
Out on 59 X in the US and Disconnect Disconnect Records in the UK, Pyramid Scheme Of Grief is packed with tracks that range from fist-in-the-air bangers and melodic singalongs to more reflective emo. All of which hit the mark.
