What do you get when you put Naked Raygun’s Jeff Pezzati, Noise By Numbers’ Jeff Dean, The Methadones’ Pete Mittler and Dan Vapid and the Cheats’ Mike Soucy together in a band? The axis of awesome… that’s what! Well, The Bomb actually. And they just released a 5-song EP on No Idea called “The Axis Of Awesome”.

Expect five badass songs from these Chicago scene veterans that are honest, energetic and melodic all at once. Pezzati’s vocals are the first thing you’re drawn to but that’s not to say the rest of the band is slouching. They sound as tight as ever on “Silent Fall” and “Watch Them Bleed”, both of which seem to be injected with a healthy dose of nervousness. And while the cover of The Dwarves’ “Back Seat Of My Car” wasn’t necessary per se, it sure is fun!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
