Bristol punk rock band Split Dogs will release their second album, Nice N’ Rough, on September 25, 2026 via Venn Records.

The band has shared the album’s first single, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Business,” alongside an accompanying video. The 2:40 track takes aim at the music industry, using the conventions of a British gangster film as its central theme.

Singer Harry Martinez explains:

“Rock ‘N’ Roll Business imagines the music industry as a classic British gangster film. Dirty deeds, big egos and people you wouldn’t trust with your last ciggie. It’s tongue-in-cheek but it’s also our big middle finger to the whole thing cus it’s mostly true.”

The video follows the song’s gangster-film concept, with the band using a black Chevrolet Chevelle owned by a friend of the group. It was filmed at a local garage made available to the band by one of their acquaintances.

Nice N’ Rough was recorded at The Station House in Leeds, a studio housed in a former Victorian police station. Split Dogs worked with producer Jonah Falco, known for his work with High Vis and Rifle and as the drummer of Fucked Up, and engineer James Atkinson, formerly of hardcore band Voorhees.

The album features 13 tracks drawing on punk, glam and rock ’n’ roll influences, with the band citing artists including the Plasmatics, New York Dolls, Motörhead and The Stooges.

Several songs address more personal subjects. Album opener “Be Somebody” focuses on individuality, while “Speed Demon” considers the impact of external pressures on mental health. “Suffer” deals with the effects of parental abuse.

Split Dogs have spent the past two years touring extensively across the UK and Europe, including a 2025 tour with Gogol Bordello and shows with Bad Nerves and Teen Mortgage.

The band’s 2026 schedule includes headline dates, festival appearances, a German headline tour, September in-store performances and an October European tour with Danko Jones.

Nice N’ Rough follows Split Dogs’ debut album and continues the band’s combination of punk, rock ’n’ roll and glam-influenced songwriting.
