Formed in the summer of 2020 in a basement in Elkhart, Indiana, Half Built Homes started working on these songs in the hopes that they would be playing them live when the world got back to something resembling normal. While that hasn’t happened yet, they are excited to be able to release these songs to show the world what they’ve been doing in that Midwest basement.
They spent their late teens and twenties playing in metal and hardcore bands. Now in their early 30's, they have decided to draw influence from some of the bands that inspired them to start playing music in the first place. They have struggled to say exactly what genre their music falls in, but it’s somewhere between punk, pop punk, emo, and Americana. It's not that they’ve gotten soft with their old age, but the anger that used to fuel them has been replaced by the weight of being grown up and still trying to figure out who they are and where they belong.
