With their seventh full-length album Seven Years of Bad Luck arriving June 19 via Thousand Islands Records, Canadian melodic skatepunk legends Belvedere have released another powerful preview of the record with the new single “In Solidarity.”
A blistering and thought-provoking anthem, “In Solidarity” tackles themes of social responsibility, collective action, and the dangers of silence in the face of injustice. Inspired by the famous poem First They Came, the song serves as both a warning and a call to action.
"A reference to the poem 'First They Came'," explains vocalist and guitarist Steven Rawles. "Stand up for marginalized people at any cost before it's too late. You're next."
The track showcases everything that has made Belvedere one of punk rock's most respected and enduring bands over the last three decades: lightning-fast musicianship, soaring melodies, razor-sharp songwriting, and lyrics that challenge listeners to engage with the world around them.
Following previously released singles "Crimson" and "Dormitory," "In Solidarity" further reveals the thematic depth and musical ambition found throughout Seven Years of Bad Luck. The album balances melody and aggression, introspection and confrontation, delivering a collection of songs that feels both deeply personal and strikingly relevant.
