Austin's Hoaxxers have officially announced their sophomore EP Hard Luck, alongside the release of its first single, “Pin on a Map.”

Set to drop May 29th via Mom’s Basement Records, Hard Luck marks a significant evolution for the band. Made up of all three original members of the now-defunct Southeast Texas pop punk outfit Joe Jitsu, Hoaxxers are clearly building on their roots while sharpening their sound. The new EP delivers six heartfelt, hook-driven punk tracks that lean into the melodic charm of bands like Dan Vapid & The Cheats and The Copyrights. Songs that feel instantly familiar in the best way, the kind you’re humming before the first listen even ends.

“Pin on a Map,” the lead single, sets the tone with a mix of urgency and reflection. Frontman Charlie describes the track as a personal anthem shaped by changing priorities:

“This is a song about living every day like it's your last. Kinda cliché I know, but I'm feeling that sentiment more and more now that I'm a Dad in my mid forties. Really don't want to look back at my life and mostly remember the four walls at my job. So I guess it's an anthem for getting out there and doing stuff with the people you love while you still can.”
