San Francisco’s own Sad Snack - the queer, nonbinary ska-punk firestorm and recent winner of Best Ska of 2024 at the iconic 924 Gilman - are crashing back onto the scene with their newest single, “The Story Doesn’t End.” Known for their explosive live shows, where depressing snack foods become flying projectiles and local furries become fast friends, Sad Snack have built a cult following through humor, heart, and a horn section that swells to a mighty four members when the stars align.

Their breakout moment came with a viral cover of The Mountain Goats’ “No Children,” but the band has since carved out their own lane with sardonic storytelling, punchy brass arrangements, and a raw sincerity that hits just as hard as their riffs.

The new track continues that tradition. Described by the band as “a bass-driven anthem about powering through crappy, monotonous day jobs you’ve promised yourself you were not going to return to, yearning all the while for creative fulfillment,” “The Story Doesn’t End” taps into the universal grind — and the stubborn spark that keeps artists going anyway.

“The Story Doesn’t End” appears on Sad Snack’s upcoming full-length album, Vending Machine, out December 5 on Sell The Heart Records (pre-order). Stay tuned and maybe bring a helmet for the snack barrage.
