Italy-based band The Chains have released their new single, “California Sun.” The track builds on the group’s distinctive blend of Boss Reggae and Ska, infused with touches of Garage Rock and Soul.

The Chains’ sound is shaped by Jakob Palitzsch on organ, Kevin Leo on lead guitar, David Peter on bass, Bjørn Hardenberg on drums, and Lasse Elmer on rhythm guitar. Lead vocalist Pato Siebenhaar is joined by Leo and Peter on backing vocals, creating rich harmonies influenced by 1960s Jamaican vocal groups.

Formed by musicians spanning three generations of Copenhagen’s Ska and Early Reggae scene, The Chains bring together members active since the early 1980s through to the 2000s. Their music reflects both a respect for classic styles and the individual influences of each band member.
