100% Hardcore. 100% Straight Edge. 100% Latino. Colombian hardcore band Raw Brigade are stating exactly who they are with their new album 100% out November 14th on Flatspot Records. Available in both English and Spanish versions, the eleven track album bursts with aggression through furious vocals, fast-paced riffs, and plenty of two-step mosh parts. Influence from NYHC bands like Outburst and Warzone seeps through, while lyrics tackle everything from straight edge pride to addressing those who are treated unjust from corrupt systems.
Raw Brigade’s fast, old-school style of hardcore comes across in singles “BOGOTÁ 12-4Q” and “Another Struggle” (as well as Spanish version “Otro Problema”) out today. The accompanying Derek Rathbun directed video captures the band’s relentless live energy and their city of Bogotá.
Vocalist Carlos Chavarriaga shares:
“‘Another Struggle’ is my favorite song on the record. It’s an introspective thought about how sometimes we make life a complete rush with no breaks. ‘BOGOTÁ 12-4Q’ is an instrumental song we’re we are capturing the aggressive, fast and chaotic energy of our city Bogotá.”
Raw Brigade’s story starts in 2016 in Bogotá, Colombia as friends working at a tattoo shop who put together a Youth Of Today cover band for a one off show. After playing together, they figured why not just be a band, and Raw Brigade was formed. The band dropped a demo that year and followed it up with 2018’s Kicking Your Face EP which began garnering them attention on an international scale. 2021 saw the release of the Hardcore Latino EP and Raw Brigade’s first full-length came in 2022 with Aggressive City. With an arsenal of music, the band’s high energy live show went from South and North America to Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia, and they’ll head out on tour supporting End It and Agnostic Front on separate runs.
