Maxwell Stern – best known for fronting Ohio-born punk/indie rock band Signals Midwest – releases his new single "Stay Close To Me" today via Lauren Records, ahead of his performance at XPoNential Music Festival in Camden, NJ on September 20.

"Stay Close To Me" is a buzzing, guitar-forward "love song for novices." "I dreamt the chorus to this song and when I woke up, I tried to convince myself that I was too tired to get up and write it," said Stern. "Instead, I groggily stumbled to a guitar and made an early-morning frog-voice demo. I don't remember the whole dream, but I remembered the melody. It's really for anyone who happens to find themselves ridin' on an unfamiliar wave."
