Maryland rock band Have Mercy released a new single and music video for the vulnerable track “tv glows.” This is the second single off their long-awaited sixth studio record the loneliest place i’ve ever been. It is set for release on August 29th via Rude Records.

“tv glows” is an emotionally charged reflection on love lost and growing up. Anchored by late-night nostalgia and aching vulnerability, the track lyrically delves into growing apart from someone who once felt like home. The accompanying music video mirrors that mood, following the band as they drive down a quiet back road, lost in thought and memory. It’s melancholic, honest, and unmistakably Have Mercy.

“This is a song about understanding the dynamics of a relationship and how things change over time. The lyrics explore the possibility of a good thing ending and how that would feel. That overwhelming dread of ‘did our little fight just ruin everything?’ shares Brian Swindle, lead singer of Have Mercy. “Musically, it’s very Gin Blossoms-esque with a more modern feel. I was probably listening to a little too much 90s music at the time ha.”

Driven by their signature blend of vulnerability and intense melodies, this new record is for fans of emotionally charged alt-rock and timeless songwriting. It’s a collection of songs to play when the night feels too quiet.

When speaking about the new record, Swindle shares, “We’ve been waiting so long to show our fans what we’ve been working on. This feels like a new journey has started for our band.”
