No Echo has premiered “Tangled” a new song from Grand Rapids, MI based Cosmonaut this morning. Musically the band excels at post-hardcore imbued rock “Tangled” being a prime example.

Taken from the trio’s forthcoming S/T full-length album, it boasts added vocal contribution from Allen Epley (Shiner/The Life and Times). Dropping on 10/2 Epley and Eric Abert (The Life and Times) produced the album, which was recorded at Matt Talbot’s (Hum) Earth Analog Studios.

Speaking on the recording of the song Brian George (vocals/guitar) said “we knew we wanted Al (Allen Epley) to do backups on the chorus, but he took it to the next level and came up with a three part harmony (including drummer Josh Stacey) on the spot. We had limited tracks recording to tape, so we just went out there and sang it together: one mic, one track, one take.”

Rounded out by Rodney Johnson (bass) Cosmonaut formed in 2012 (though all the members have played together previously in other projects). Since then the band has already recorded an EP with Steve Albini and shared stages with such notables as Death From Above 1979, Greys, The Life And Times and Animal Lover.
