We are very excited to premiere “My Fangs”, the title track off of Hot Knife’s upcoming EP!

Hot Knife got its start two years ago when Vic Castello (Static Radio NJ) and Ryan Weber (Spanish Gamble) were at a bar in Brooklyn talking about how they needed to start a new band. The band’s line-up was rounded out with Luke Taylor on vocals and Candy Heart’s Matt Ferraro and it didn’t take them long to start cranking out punchy punk rock tunes.

Vocalist/guitarist Luke Taylor about the song:

“My Fangs is a pop song about political conversation in America. We started writing it during the election. I got into a Wikipedia wormhole about 'aggressive mimicry' which is a biological term for predators/parasites exploiting harmless signals so that they aren't identified as dangerous by their prey. In the political conversation I think there are a lot of parasites selling harmful ideas to vulnerable people. Not exactly profound, I know.

As usual for Hot Knife, this is a short song. Ideally when it ends you will want to go back and listen to it again. Vic wrote the riff at the end. We recorded the EP with Jesse Cannon and Mike Oettinger at Cannon Found Soundation and they nailed it, especially on this track - it's driving and relentless and has the the energy we were going for. Also Vic snuck a bass slide in there. OK that's all, hope you like it, play it loud.”

“My Fangs” will be out Sep 8 via The Black Numbers. You can pre-order the EP HERE.
