Los Angeles punk trio Moonraker have returned with their latest single, “Find Your Fangs,” marking the band’s first release through Punkerton Records and offering a preview of their forthcoming album, Me And The Bells, due out this fall. Often described as Midwest punk filtered through the melodic sensibilities of Bad Religion, Moonraker’s sound also draws comparisons to influential punk trios such as The Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio.

“Find Your Fangs” explores the frustration of chasing goals that never materialize, capturing the feeling of being directionless and defeated before delivering a challenge to listeners: “find your fangs or find a better place to hide.”

The track was recorded with producer Chris Fogal in Denver, an experience drummer and vocalist David Green described as particularly meaningful. “Working with Chris Fogal in Denver was awesome,” Green said. “He let us use one of his guitars to track the rhythm guitars for this song. About two seconds in, we realized it was a guitar he played on the record Parts by his band The Gamits, which is a favorite of mine. The fact that we get to share a little bit of that sound on one of our records now is very cool to me.”

Alongside the single, Moonraker have also released an official music video directed by Raine Mara and the band. The DIY production leaned heavily into the band’s creative spirit, utilizing backup cameras from their vehicles and a borrowed work truck to bring the concept to life.

“We shot this using the backup cameras in our cars and a truck I borrowed from work,” Green explained. “Shoutout to Raine for shooting it and to my coworker Aaron for working the lift gate on the truck while Matt ripped his solo. We all got crazy sunburnt making this. Turns out when you film in a parking lot all day, you should wear sunscreen.”
