The Flatliners have shared “Pulpit,” the latest single to be lifted from the Friday, May 8 release of Cold World, the longstanding, Juno-nominated Canadian punk quartet’s brand new studio album. “‘Pulpit’ is a musical excavation of what always feels to be looming in the dark corners around us,” the band says. “Our palpable mortality, the deception of belief, and the beauty of decay, all wrapped up into a twist and turn for two-and-a-half minutes that will just keep you guessing.”
While 2022's New Ruin was preoccupied with the inherited damages of the last generation, the forthcoming Cold World from The Flatliners sees that legacy for what it is — a ghost, a fading memory. If New Ruin was about the rage of realization, now we're damned with the aftermath of clarity. Welcome to the future.
