Character Actors have released their new single, "I've Got a Chicken to Pluck With You, Michael", the second track to be unveiled from the Leeds-based indie punk band's forthcoming second album, scheduled for release in late 2026. Check out the new single here.
The song combines dual vocal performances, introspective lyricism and a melodic emo-punk sound. It was recorded by producer Kurt Wood (Goo, Foxes Faux, Sounds of Swami).
Character Actors released their debut album, The Hard Part, in 2023, followed by the EP Everywhere Is Good Except For Where We Are in 2024. The band's previous releases have drawn comparisons to acts including The Menzingers, Jeff Rosenstock, PUP, Joyce Manor and The Bouncing Souls.
Over the past several years, the British-Dutch-Seychellois trio have performed across the UK and northern Europe, sharing stages with bands including Burnt Tapes, Slash Fiction, Antillectual, Goodbye Blue Monday, Eat Defeat, The Losing Score, Harker, Custody, Back Teeth and Toodles and the Hectic Pity.
