As far as I can tell Portugal isn’t exactly the ultimate hardcore country of the world. Yet here I am listening to Reaching Hand’s youth crew anthems which sound not unlike Gorilla Biscuits or Chain Of Strength and wondering what else I missed out on.

This female-fronted HC outfit likes things fast, sharp and aggressive yet leave plenty of room to pitch in some melodies. Mostly on the guitars, the vocals not so much. If I would have to complain about anything concerning this release, it would be that the Sofia’s voice takes some getting used to. At first I thought she sounded a little constipated. But after two songs you get the hang of it and then there’s nothing that can stop from enjoying all five tracks on “Threshold”. Looking forward to see what they’ll do next!

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
