Santa Rosa, CA punks M Section have a new album out called ‘Pastrami Salami’. That’s ten new songs worth of thrashy punk rock, breakneck speeds, blistering solos and plenty of unexepected twists and turns that take you completely off guard. Think NOFX meets PEARS meets Valient Thorr, decked out in luchador masks.

It doesn’t really matter what you are into really... M Section most likely work it into one of their songs at some point. Thrashy, snarky and frenetic are the main keywords here, which becomes clear from the second they dive headfirst into opener ‘No Yes’. From there on, they just keep on charging forward, regardless of the mayhem they leave behind in their wake. ‘Space Drive’ is a short blast of punk rock fury, ‘Splenda’ is what happens when snotty punk rock meets a spaghetti western soundtrack and the band manages to create a downright epic feel on ‘Eerie’ even though the second clocks in at 2 minutes and 26 seconds.

Saying that there is a whole lot going on on ‘Pastrami Salami’ is a bit of an understatement, but it says a lot about these guys’ skills that they end up with a cohesive album that will leave you in tatters after just under half an hour.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
