Gumm’s debut album, ‘Slogan Machine,’ is out now on Convulse Records. Over the course of 24 minutes, the Chattanooga, TN based band burns through 8 songs with reckless abandon. They blend punk rock, post-hardcore and no holds barred hardcore fury in a way that has them sounding like an even more pissed off, yet slightly less sarcastic version of Drug Church. Or a more vitriolic incarnation of Militarie Gun.

Grounded in Revolution Summer styled hardcore, but with a modern twist, Gumm dishes out imaginative riffage, pummeling drums and dito basslines along with vocalist Drew Waldon’s throat-shredding roar, making ‘Slogan Machine’ another surprising album that fits right in with the current crop of hardcore bands that are steering things in a slightly different direction.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
