Album Reviews
Not sure what this Cambridge-based outfit has to mourn about. Definitely not their music. On their new EP, “Demonstrations”, they crank out five songs that will win you over after just one listen.
About 15 seconds into opening track “My Friend, The Ghost”, I already found myself nodding along. The song has this effortless cool about it and while it starts off with more of a 90s alt-rock vibe, it builds up towards a post-hardcore jam that will definitely get your attention. The louder guitars and gruff vocals of the first song’s finale carry over into “Ownership”, one of the more rugged tracks on “Demonstrations”.
I’m pretty sure that “No Sleep” and “Warmest Jets” will sit well with fans of outfits such as Braid and Texas Is The Reason, while “Little Armoured” shows you what Grieving sound like if they take it down a notch and introduce a bit of At The Drive-In into the mix.
If these are the first five songs of a band that got together just last year, then I am already very much looking forward to what they will do next.
