Emmer Effer is a four-piece out of LA who like to keep their songs short and to the point. “From The Bottom Down” comes with a whopping 19 tracks, only four of which cross the two-minute mark with a couple of seconds. The band swears it was by accident. And if you want guitar solos, just keep on looking. Emmer Effer doesn’t do guitar solos.

What they do do (hihi) is sound a lot like Pennywise and 98 Mute. Did we really need another band that sounds like Pennywise? Well, I wasn’t exactly asking for one. Especially when Pennywise will be releasing a new album themselves in 2018. But Emmer Effer went ahead and made “From The Bottom Down” anyway. It’s not bad, but it’s not exactly novel and 19 tracks of the meat-and-potatoes variety punk rock is simply too much. Especially seeing they forgot to add some gravy every now and again.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
