Everybody’s favorite lawyer is back! Well, except for those of you who still think Matlock is the shit. Whereas the first season was already extremely watchable, it still had me wondering where it was they were going exactly. Well, we all know where it goes… this is after all kind of a Breaking Bad prequel. But at times the first season felt kinda random. Not so in the second season, which just keeps getting better.

So where were we? At the end of the first season, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) had uncovered a scam at the Sandpiper Crossing nursing home and was looking to lead the class action suit. Meanwhile a side gig with Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) takes him back to his Slippin’ Jimmy days. And will he and Kim (Rhea Seehorn) get together or not? And what about his relationship with his brother Chuck (Michael McKean)? There are a lot of different storylines being held up in the air, and all of them stay there over the course of these ten new episodes.

Better Call Saul’s second season starts off with Jimmy working in a Cinnabon somewhere in the Midwest. While taking out the trash, he ends up trapped in a garbage bin bay in the mall. Rather than using the emergency door (which will set off an alarm), he waits for someone else to show up. While killing time, he scratches “S.G. was here”.  Guess we will have to wait for season three when exactly he will go from being Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman. But one thing is already for certain. We may no longer have Walter White, but Jimmy McGill is every bit as interesting and fun to keep track of.
