When Marco Reosti isn’t releasing albums by the likes of Freezing Cold, Big Nothing or Radiator Hospital through Salinas Records, he is making quite a bit of noise himself. Case in point: Quaker Wedding’s debut album, ‘In Transit’.

Named after the Quaker practice where a couple can get married without the presence of a third-party officiant (which is as DIY as it gets), this New York City trio likes their punk rock gruff yet melodic with some Midwest flair. As soon as they sink their teeth in opener ‘Sinking Ships’, you are welcomed with the kind of basslines that will rumble the fillings out of your teeth, thick distorted guitars, gritty as hell vocals and drums that keep everything in place.

It’s a sound that works well for them and one they stick to as they dig in and work their way through ‘Jilted Lover’, the more mellow ‘Vermont’ and the short blast that is ‘Sleep’.
