To bide time between albums, Man Overboard released the “Passing Ends” EP in late October with five songs, four of which are acoustic-based. Now, maybe it’s just me but I don’t get the whole ‘pop-punk bands go acoustic’ thing. I like pop-punk because it combines energy with melody… but by going acoustic you lose half of the appeal as far as I’m concerned.

Even worse is that when you hand these bands an acoustic guitar, things have a tendency to take a turn for the whiny real quick. That is no different here to be completely honest. If you’re a die-hard Man Overboard fan, you might want to give this one a listen. Everyone else can just skip it.
