Chicago’s Dingus. (don’t forget the period!) have teamed up with Near Mint for a cassette release of their latest EP, “I Was Never A Boy Scout”. I was never a boy scout either, so I felt like we were bonding on a deeper level right off the bat.

These self-described emo-surf dudes sound like a punkier Wavves (“Loser”) one minute and a moodier Weezer (“Jack Campbell”) the next with some Sorority Noise and plenty of ooh ooh ooh’s thrown in as well. It’s pretty badass to tell you the truth. A little rough around the edges here and there, but that actually suits the music just fine.

Kudos to Dingus., the only all-dude band with a period. Sorry, couldn’t resist that one.
