Following up on their still somewhat sloppy 2013 debut, LA’s Criminal Hygiene is back with ‘Run It Again’. They recorded their sophomore LP with Alex Newport (Death Cab For Cutie, Frank Turner, Bloc Party) who helped harness the band’s raw potential into one badass collection of ten Replacements-like rock tunes.

Running the gamut from completely kickass anthems like ‘Hardly News’ or ‘Dangers Of Convenience’ to the more mellow ‘Greetings From A Postcard’ – which reminded me of the Wallflowers for some reason – and the Philip Seymour Hoffman dedicated ‘Private Screening Heroin,’ all of the songs that make up ‘Run It Again’ are fairly fantastic and will no doubt not get all the attention they deserve.

If you like your melodies big and your guitars rough-edged, then Criminal Hygiene have got you more than covered.

  1. Hardly News
  2. Breaking Out The Stained Glass
