Boysetsfire and Funeral For A Friend combined forces and created a split single. The best part of it all? They covered each other’s songs!  I suspect a lot of people have been waiting for this. Well kids, the time has come.

Boysetsfire performed “10:45 Amsterdam Conversations” while  Funeral For A Friend sang “Rookie”. Both of the songs start off with a long ass intro. Intros are never a bad thing, unless they go on for too long. There’s a thin line between awesome and awful. These gents sure know that. When you get to the vocals –a lot of fans might have already their panties in a wad by now, it is that great –  you know you’re in for a good one.  Both bands have managed to cover the song, but personalised them as well. For example, the Boysetsfire dude has a unique voice. It puts a twist on every sound that comes out of his mouth. Same goes for the Funeral For A Friend singer. He sounds a bit more nasal. Oh, and both bands sound amazing, as always.

If you’d put a gun to my head and made me choose between the two songs, I’d have to say I liked the Funeral For a Friend one better, for reasons unknown. But if you like Boysetsfire better, that’s fine too. Whatever floats your boat, as long as you buy this single, everything’s alright.
