Hospital Job will return to Rad Girlfriend Records with 1000 Places To Die Before You See, due for release September 25.

Hospital Job is the long-running project of Springfield, Illinois songwriter and musician Luke McNeill, who is also known for his work with The Copyrights. McNeill has used Hospital Job as a separate outlet for his songwriting since the project’s early releases, developing a catalog alongside his work with The Copyrights and other projects. The project has also remained active within the DIY punk community through releases, touring and collaborations.

McNeill wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered 1000 Places To Die Before You See himself. The album addresses themes including frustration, self-examination, resentment, grief, isolation and aging, while also touching on wealth, competition, personal failure and loss.

Across the record, McNeill examines the process of getting older, losing people and possibilities, and confronting patterns carried forward from the past. The songs move between anger, regret, cynicism and hope without offering straightforward resolutions, focusing instead on the contradictions involved in trying to move forward while reckoning with what came before.
