Willow Creek

Writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait previously treated us to World’s Greatest Dad and God Bless America, two anarchic satire-filled comedies that you should see if you haven’t already done so. This time around he combines two genres that are all but worn out – the found footage horror flick and the there’s-something-evil-in-these-here-woods movie – and comes out a winner with this slow burning horror movie.

Whiplash

A movie about a young drummer and a teacher who demands too much from his students. How could this possibly make for an exciting watch? Right? But holy crap, this movie is friggin’ awesome!

Burying The Ex

Gremlins/Piranha director Joe Dante is back with a new flick, “Burying The Ex”. This time around the Roger Corman pupil takes a closer look at codependency in relationships and the risks of moving in together while using all the elements of a zomcom and 80ies horror.

Cymbeline

When I first heard about Cymbeline, it seemed like a movie that could be fun. It stars Ed Harris as Cymbeline, the boss of a biker gang who ends up in a bloody conflict with a corrupt police force after his wife (Milla Jovovich) convinces him to stop paying police chief Caius Lucius (Vondie Curtis-Hall). Sounds like it could be an episode of Sons Of Anarchy, right?
