The Darién Gap is weighing in on the collapse of the American Empire in real time with their new single “Jackson Painted Red.” The California-based duo, made up of multi-instrumentalist Mike Thompson and songwriter Brian Moss (The Ghost, Hanalei, and Great Apes), pen angsty indie-punk songs rooted in fictionalized stories that marry sociopolitical commentary and humanity. “Jackson Painted Red” is set in a climate ravished Las Vegas as the protagonist navigates its seedy underbelly with an unhealthy dose of self-doubt. It’s the second single from their upcoming EP In Miniature that was recorded in a home in the fog-shrouded coastal hamlet of Los Osos.

In Miniature will be released on Friday, November 6th. Brian Moss will be playing a rare acoustic set as Hanalei at this year’s Part-Time PR Fest in December.
