Garage Fuzz have released “Flashpoint,” the second track from their new EP Powerplant. The release comes as the Santos, Brazil band celebrate 35 years together, with the new EP marking another step in the current lineup’s run.
“Flashpoint” is a fast hardcore track about breaking away from a situation that has become a source of pressure rather than safety. The song uses the image of setting a house on fire as a metaphor for leaving something behind and starting over.
Powerplant features five new songs alongside a new recording of “Jaded,” originally released on 2024’s Grawlix. Recorded at OddSounds Studio in São Paulo and produced by Gustavo Scaranelo, the EP keeps Garage Fuzz’s melodic hardcore approach while touching on burnout, routine, mental health and the pressures of everyday life.
Formed in Santos in 1991, Garage Fuzz remain one of the established names in Brazilian melodic hardcore. Powerplant is out now via OddSounds Music.
