Sunderland, UK three-piece UGLY CRIERS release their debut LP Catching Spiders today via Little Rocket Records (buy your copy HERE). To celebrate the occasion, we’re premiering the video for the band’s new single, “BILK.”
“It’s a fast song about living in a slow town—being born into a community you’ll most likely never leave,” says guitarist and vocalist Greg Robson. You can watch the video below.
Catching Spiders packs ten songs that explore coping with parenthood, relationship struggles, and wrestling with the noise inside your own head. The lyrics draw from the poetry of drummer Nina Mackie and the lived experiences of guitarist Greg Robson, while the music is forged from the band’s core trio of instruments - drums, bass, and guitar - hammered out in sweaty basement sessions. The result is a sound that’s honest, raw, and unrelentingly hard.
The album was recorded over three days in July 2025 at Rocket Studios in Sunderland by Graeme Philiskirk (Roach Squad, Leatherface, Medictation).
