Ahead of its official release tomorrow, we are premiering 'Into Darker Days,' the long-awaited new album by Cleveland punk veterans Whatever… .Produced by the legendary J. Robbins and set for release on Dr. Strange Records on May 30, Into Darker Days is a furious return to form. Vocalist and guitarist Ben Wrecked describes the album as “a raw, politically charged punk album that rips through themes of societal decay, personal disillusionment, and emotional burnout. Brutal, honest, and unapologetically loud—this is punk for the end times.” So honestly, this one couldn't come out at a more opportune time.
Originally rising from the Cleveland underground in the early ’90s, Whatever… helped shape a generation of DIY punk. After decades of silence, the band roared back in 2024 with Our Decline, their first new material in 27 years. Now, with Into Darker Days, they deliver a defiant, riff-driven battle cry for a fractured world.
The re-formed lineup includes founding members Ben Wrecked (vocals/guitar) and Matt Fish (drums), joined once again by Brett Moore (Sidecar, Night Sweats) on second guitar, and newly added bassist Peter Woodward (Sidecar, the Unknown).
Fans who preorder the album on vinyl through the band’s Bandcamp will receive limited edition colored vinyl.
