Brooklyn’s BEINN are sharing their new song and music video 'We Are Not Alone,' taken from their upcoming debut LP Perpetual Architecture, out November 14 via Mind Over Matter Records (pre-order). The video for the new single, directed by Andy Biscontini, captures the band's moodiness beautifully while the song further showcases BEINN’s blend of angular riffs, shoegazey textures, and post-hardcore tension.

Pronounced “Ben,” BEINN takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for “mountain”, which is fitting for a band that thrives on scale, weight, and atmosphere.

Formed after countless late nights closing down bars in Brooklyn’s South Slope, BEINN came together when vocalist/guitarist Arty Shepherd (Errortype:11, Primitive Weapons) dared bassist Eric Adams (Adam’s Castle) and drummer Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike) to “just do it. Start this band.” The trio began rehearsing in Greenpoint, just around the corner from Saint Vitus, the iconic NYC venue that Shepherd owned for 13 years. From day one, the chemistry was undeniable.

The band quickly booked studio time with Mario Quintero (Spotlights), capturing the raw immediacy of their first sessions. “The raw energy of that first time you play a song in the practice space can never be duplicated,” says Shepherd. “It’s always the best version, but I wanted to get as close as possible and I think we did.”

Those sessions yielded nine songs, to be released as three separate EPs, starting with Perpetual Architecture. The first release includes the shoegazey 'Passions of Great Misfortune,' the paranoid post-hardcore anthem 'Run,' and 'Quadrille,' an ode to the frustrations of creative life in NYC.

Shepherd adds, “Music used to command the listener’s attention — now it’s in the background. Not because it lost its quality, but because it lost its importance in our culture. Or did it? Let go and listen. Let’s start a war. I’m feeling trapped!”
