Pillow Fort have released their new single, "Codename Kids Next Year", their first new music since July 2023. The track explores themes of growing independence and increasing distance from family, combining energetic instrumentation with an emotionally driven vocal performance.

The accompanying music video was filmed at a skatepark, reflecting the song's focus on growing up while maintaining a connection to childhood. The shoot also featured a number of falls and mishaps during filming.

Pillow Fort are a three-piece alternative emo band based in Nottingham, UK, comprising Ryan Crick, Sam Rodmell and Isaac Peacock. Originally formed as Crick's solo project in Leicester in 2020, the band expanded after Rodmell and Peacock joined, playing their first live show in December 2021.

Drawing influence from modern emo, pop-punk, math rock and punk, Pillow Fort released their debut EP, Words That Change in Meaning, in 2022, followed by its companion release, And Words That Stay the Same, in 2023. Since then, the band has performed alongside artists including Michael Cera Palin, Crywank and Your Arms Are My Cocoon, and has established a presence within the UK DIY emo scene.
