After spending two decades lurking on the fringes of the underground, Alabama punks The Dismals have finally released their first full-length album. Titled Stability In Motion, the record is out now through DIY label Arkam Records. Check out the title track below.

Formed in 2005 in the Muscle Shoals area, The Dismals have largely operated below the radar throughout their existence. They briefly resurfaced in 2017 with their self-titled debut 7-inch, also released by Arkam Records, before disappearing once again.

Stability In Motion captures 20 years of the band's evolution, with material written between 2008 and 2025. The result is a collection of urgent, dark punk anthems that tap from the same vein as Red Dons with some Marked Men influences sneaking their way in as well. The album was recorded and produced by the band themselves at the Ice Coffin, a small house in the woods just across the Tennessee/Alabama state line, with Josh Lynchard handling engineering duties.
