With six albums in just nine years, it’s obvious that Vreid don’t spend all their time worhsipping the dark lord. Busy little fuckers! This black metal outfit comes armed with the usual… schreeched vocals, face-melting riffs and pounding drums yet they are not afraid to veer off the beaten path, often injecting their songs with some rock ‘n roll swagger or death metal grooves. Or they just thrash the fuck out in songs like “The Reap”.
It makes “Welcome Farewell” an album that is fun to listen to yet it feels bleak and desolate at the same time. Black metal purists probably hate these guys with a vengeance… then again, they pretty much hate everyone, don’t they?
Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
