Oddczar is a somewhat weird name but okay, I can look past that. Especially if that band just released a debut that hits as hard as “One Word”. Think of the cathartic hardcore stylings of Touche Amore and La Dispute and there ya go…

Swirling guitar lines are juxtaposed against more jagged riffs and sped on by a very tight rhythm section. Meanwhile the vocalist does a pretty good job as well with his mix of gruff shouts and hoarse screaming. And while they don’t measure up to the abovementioned bands just yet, they are well on their way.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
